Destination Rabat- Team Ghana Poised For Action

The Deputy chef d’ maison for Team Ghana, Mr Emmanuel Tuffour (Korra), has noted that all is set for Ghana’s contingent to put up a good show at the upcoming Africa Games  scheduled to take place from the 16th to 30th August,2019 in Rabat, Morocco.

Korra, as he is affectionately called reiterated that the Team has been provided with the necessities to ensure that their intensive training sessions during the camping gives them a major boost during the Games.

He added, that, there are no injuries yet to hinder their preparations. He further assured Ghanaians that Team Ghana will bring back many medals as every athlete selected for the Games is a medal hopeful.

Mr Tuffour made this known when our team visited them at their camping site in Cape Coast. The athletes were vigorously seen training for the Competition. Morale in the camp was high as the athletes were motivated to go for glory.

A careful search to ascertain the reason for the high morale boost for the team revealed that both athletes and officials were happy with the conditions at the camp. There is a stay in medical team as well as a dietitian to assist the team, a phenomena that was absent in the past. Some athletes we spoke to also expressed satisfaction with the feeding and sleeping arrangements at the serene Cape Coast stadium.

Mr Tuffour, who is also a three time olympian for Ghana assured us that the athletes will have a smooth flight to Rabat for the Games as his boss, the Chef d’ maison, Mr Raymond Quarcoo was in Accra to see to the travel arrangements for the Team. He took the opportunity to advice the athletes to be disciplined in camp and work hard with their trainers and Coaches to ensure that their aim of wining laurels in Morrocco be achieved.

Ghana will be presenting a contingent totalling one hundred and thirty nine (139) persons made up of 91 athletes, 29 coaches and 19 Management members. Team Ghana will participate in 14 disciplines including cycling, badminton, hockey, football, karate-do, boxing, fencing,  Taekwondo, Judo among others.
