The senior national women’s team the Black Queens, played a goalless draw game in their Olympic qualifying match with their counterparts from Kenya at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Queens started the game on a bright note after creating some decent chances, but failed to make it count as they could not score from any of them. A second half pressing game saw strikers Milot Pokuaa and Evelyn Badu both hitting the goal post.
Speaking to some journalists after the match, the head coach of the Black Queens Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo said that she was not too worried with the scoreline adding that, she is optimistic her side will work hard to ensure they win the second leg in Kenya.
The goalless game means that coach Mercy Tagoe’s side will need a good scoreline against the Harambee Starlets next Tuesday at the Moi International Sports stadium in Nairobi, Kenya to qualify for the next stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifying games.
