The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday, 26th November 2019, met the management Board of the National Sports Authority to deliberate on a wide range of issues as to how best the two entities can collaborate effectively in the organization and promotion of football in Ghana.
According to the President of the FA, Mr. Kurt E.S Okraku, the meeting was meant to foster a healthy working relations between the Sports Authority and the Ghana Football Association.
He said it is important for the two parties to co-exist as major stakeholders, so as to collectively help develop and promote football in the country. He further stated that since football related activities have been taking place in facilities owned by the Authority, there is the need to partner the NSA and other stakeholders to fast track the development of the game at all levels, in order to create job opportunities for the teaming youth in the country.
The Director General of the National Sports Authority Professor Peter Twumasi in his welcome address congratulated the newly elected members of the Executive Council of the GFA and assured them of the Authority’s continuous commitment in supporting football activities in the country.
Responding to a call by Mr. Okraku on security matters at match venues, Professor Twumasi said the NSA will further strengthen its engagements with the various security agencies to ensure safety of lives and property at the various match venues. Other management members of the NSA also had the opportunity to engage the FA EXCO members on other football related issues.
Other executive members present at the meeting were GFA vice President, Mark Addo, Frederick Acheampong, George Amoako, Samuel Anim Addo, Ransford Abbey, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, Nana Oduro Sarfo and Acting Communications Officer of The Ghana Football Association, Tamimu Issah Abdul-Rahman.
