IGCC inaugurates the LOC and launched the 7th Africa Zone II Swimming Championship

On Wed Feb 19, 2020, The International Games Championship Committee, chaired by Prof. Peter Twumasi who doubles as the Director-General of the National Sports Authority inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and launched the 7th Africa Zone 2 Swimming Championship to be hosted in Ghana by the Ghana Swimming Association on behalf of Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon Isaac Asiamah.



The LOC headed by Ms Sara Asafu-Adjaye, Vice President of GSA, with six other members including Mayor of Accra, Hon Mohammed Adjei Sowah, is also supported by other sub-committees such as Technical, Protocol and Security, Logistics, Health, Finance, Marketing and Sponsorship were commissioned and charge with the responsibility to ensure successful organisation of the first Continental Swimming Championship in Ghana.



The Association was hinted of Government’s efforts to establish three additional swimming facilities and construction of National Olympic Stadium to support the 2023 African Games to be hosted by Ghana.
