The three-day championship brought together 18 out of the 22 countries from the zone.
On an opening day, the representatives from Ghana, Nigeria, and Senegal wowed the spectators with their great skills.
“The performance of this competition is high because it is the qualifier for the 2020 Olympic Games. So, everybody is aiming to qualify by time, and the level of participation is great,” said Theophilus Wilson Eddie, the president of the Ghana Swimming Federation.
He described Ghana’s hosting of the competition as a record-making event since the country had just two months to prepare for the tournament.
