Today, Monday May 4, 2020, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah (MP), with the support of other dignitaries official commenced major renovation works at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Essipong in the Western Region of Ghana.
Present at the ceremony and with observance of personal protection against the Coronavirus infection included Hon. Joe Ghartey (MP), Minister of Railways Development, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (MP), Western Regional Minister, Mr. Anthony K. K. Sam, Metropolitan Chief Executive, Sekondi Takoradi, Mr Frank Quist, Chief Director, MInistry of Youth and Sports, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman, Board Chairman, National Sports Authority, and Professor Peter Twumasi, Director General, National Sports Authority.
A similar renovation work is being carried out at Accra and Kumasi sports stadiums. The ten (10) new stadiums in the ten old regions are underway, and with minimum completion level at 80%.
