NSA, MOYS Supports Taekwondo National Team

Six (6) national Taekwondo athletes departed from Accra to Dakar, Senegal to participate in the 2021 AFRICAN KYROGUI SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS (G4). The team led by the President of Ghana Taekwondo Federation, Mr. Frederick Otu, paid a courtesy call on Prof. Peter Twumasi on 2nd June, 2021 to express their appreciation for the financial support from the National Sports Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

This support takes care of the contingent’s air tickets, accommodation and per diem. The Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi congratulated the athletes for their successful selection into the national team to compete for Ghana and also encouraged them to win medals for the country. He believed that the team stands the chance to be the nucleus of the contingent for the 13th African Games to be hosted in Ghana. On his part, President Otu assured him of the team’s readiness to win medals for the country. In a related development, the National Sports Authority had earlier on supported the Karate team with air tickets for an Olympic qualifier in France.
