The newly elected Secretary-General of Squash Federation of Africa, Rev Richmond Quarcoo, today presented his letter of appointment to the National Sports Authority (NSA).
In a brief ceremony at the office of the Director-General of the National Sports Authority, the Secretary-General who served the National Association as President and also as Chef De Mission for Ghana’s contingent to 12th African Games in Rabat, Morocco in 2019, appealed to NSA to offer him the needed support to steer affairs of the Federation across the continent.
He indicated that the Federation’s Administrative Office will be relocated to Ghana from its current location in South Africa. He was optimistic that Squash sport will see a drastic improvement in the country during his term in office. Prof. Peter Twumasi congratulated him on his successful election as Secretary-General, and the honour did the country.
The National Sports Authority will extend its maximum support to ensure that he succeeds in his new position. Ghana for the past 32 years has been at the forefront of squash sport development but this is the first time a Ghanaian is serving on the continental body. Other personalities present at the ceremony included Ag. Head of Technical Department of NSA, Mr Amponfi, Ag. Director of Sports, Mr Jeffrey Manzan Owusu, and some Members of the National Squash Association
