Newly Elected President & Board Members Of Ghana Boxing Authority Pay Courtesy Call On The Director General Of The NSA

The newly elected President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Kotei Neequaye and his newly elected Board Members paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof Peter Twumasi at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, 9th September 2021.

The Secretary General of the GBA, Patrick Johnson who said, it was a pleasure to meet the Boss of the NSA introduced the Executives to Prof. Twumasi and outlined the purpose of the visit. Patrick Johnson further stated that, the executives were elected into office at the elective congress which took place on July 22, 2021 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The Head of Public Relations Department of the NSA, Mr. Charles Amofah, welcomed them and also introduced management of the NSA to the Boxing Executives.

Prof. Peter Twumasi congratulated them on their new appointment and stated that the boxing federation is one of the elite disciplines which must be accorded the needed attention. He implored them to work as a team and respect the boxing constitution at all times. The NSA boss stated how boxing made Ghana proud at the just ended Toyko 2020 Olympic Games, with Sanuel Takyi winning bronze medal for Ghana, the country’s first medal at the Olympics in 29 years.


Prof. Twumasi, who expressed his willingness to work with them also advised the Executives to embrace players in the industry in order to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for the development of sports. The newly elected President of the Ghana Boxing Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye thanked the Director General for his advice and warm reception and pleaded with him and the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif to support the federation solicit fund especially from the cooperate institutions to support their projects. He promised that, the federation is ready to produce more champions during the upcoming tournaments later in the year.
