His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II Acknowledges Prof. Peter Twumasi’s Initiatives In Promoting Sports

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the Owner and Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has showered praises on the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi for his exceptional contribution towards the growth of sports in Ghana.

His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II made this commendation during the Sports Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif’s courtesy call on the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, September 17, 2021 where the sector minister was in the company of NSA Boss, Prof. Peter Twumasi and the Ashanti Regional Minister Hon. Simon Osei Mensah.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II in his remark during the visit encouraged both the Sports Minister and his deputy as well as the Director General of NSA to be committed in the task that has been assigned to them by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as that will lead to the development of sports and unearthing more talents in the country.

Otumfuor Osei Tutu II stressed on the need to maintain the standard of work ethics required in achieving the President’s vision on sports and specifically mentioned Prof. Peter Twumasi for embarking on laudable initiatives.

“So as the work has been given to you, that’s what Ghana is demanding from you, that’s what the President is requiring from you people. Asantehene stated.

“So how you and your assistants will do it, Prof. Twumasi has started, I have seen that he is embarking on certain programs, he is going here and there and speaking, in all if you support the vision with your knowledge, then you will do it right”. Otumfour finished.

The NSA Boss after the courtesy call at Manhyia inspected the Baba Yara Sports with Hon. Mustapha Ussif where the Sports Minister confirmed, the facility is ready to host football games after it was closed down since February 2020 for some important renovation works.
