The Chief Coach for the Ghana Boxing Federation, Mr. Ofori Asare, today, January 6, 2022, paid a courtesy call to the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi at his office.
The purpose of the meeting was to present his award from the just-ended Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) which he was awarded the “National Coach of the year”.
In his remark, he thanked Prof.Twuamsi and the NSA for being a pillar of support to him in his coaching career. He commended Dr.Owusu Ansah for coaching him and making his boxing journey a success.
He however stated that though he encountered some challenges along the line he still pushed through and was grateful to all who supported him in diverse ways.
Prof.Twumasi equally commended him for being one of the best and committed coaches during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games and the victory he brought to the team under his leadership. He urged him to continue his good works in promoting sports in Ghana.
The Dep. Director General-Administration, Mr.Majid Bawa also applauded him whilst assuring him of the Authority’s support for him. He advises that he maintain his legacy by grooming the young ones to take up the mantle when he’s no more.
