The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Pays a Courtesy Call to the NSA Boss

Some leaders of the GAA paid a courtesy call today, May 5Th, 2022 at the office of the Director General, NSA in Accra.

The purpose of their visit was to inform the DG on what the Association has done in the first quarter of the year, also to notify him of upcoming programs being organized, and also to seek guidance and support from the Authority and the Director General.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Charles Osei Asibey (2nd Vice President) mentioned that, the Association has earmarked some events like the cross country in other regions. They have also decided to go to the universities and senior high schools to organize competitions to scout for potential athletes to train.

He also added that, as part of the year’s plan, the Association will be organizing coaching training sessions for interested people.

Mr. Charles Osei mentioned that all these measures are to get well trained and qualified athletes and personnel for the Association.

He also disclosed that the Association is about to participate in the upcoming ECOWAS event which will be held at the Cape Coast Stadium from the 19th to the 21st of May, 2022.

Prof. Peter Twumasi welcomed them and stated that working together with the Association goes a long way to help the Association, and thus, he would not hesitate in engaging the Authority all the time.

He mentioned some past tournaments brought excitement and recognition to the nation and the Association as well.

He encouraged them to continue immensely to achieve such successes.

Prof Peter Twumasi, added that all their petition being brought to him and the Authority would be attended to in due course with all urgent attention.

Mr. Ayer (Organiser) expressed his utmost gratitude to the Director General and thanked him for his assurances and support.

He stated that the GAA will always be there for continuous collaboration and they will thrive to make the nation and NSA proud.
