Presentation of Trophies to the Director General of NSA

Yesterday, August 17, 2022 the Men and Women senior National Teams of Volleyball presented their trophies to the Director General of National Sports Authority, Prof Peter Twumasi, at the Media Centre of Accra Sports Stadium.

At the just concluded 2022 Zone 3 Nations Cup, which was held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from August 3–10, both teams earned golden trophies in addition to eight other individual player prizes. Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Niger, and Liberia were among the other nations that took part.

Ghana won ten (10) of the twelve (12) trophies up for grabs, demonstrating the superiority of the Men’s and Women’s National Teams in the Subregion.

The teams’ new president, Mr. George Tetteh, secretary general, Mr. Alhassan, and team manager, Mr. Bawa, were in charge.

The Director General thanked the teams for their valiant efforts and gave them a gift of GHS 10,000 as a token of the Authority’s gratitude on behalf of the Ghanaian people. He counseled the group to aim for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Both Mr. Kweku Abedu Wilson and Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jr., the head of the technical department, were present at the ceremony.
