The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Boafo, has paid a courtesy call on Prof.Peter Twumasi, the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA)at his Office in Accra.
Rev. Dr. Boafo was full of gratitude for the warm reception from the Director General as he applauded him for his hard work over the years, adding that sports is one of the unifying factors that has contributed to peace building, physical wellbeing and job creation for Ghanaians. As such, sports should not be neglected. He was particularly impressed by the enormous works of government to develop sports infrastructure, as well as building our national teams to participate in tournaments for laurels.
The Presiding Bishop further pledged his support to the Authority reiterating that His Office is willing to provide spiritual support and the right counselling to Athletes and Officials to ensure the development of sports. He admonished all to rally behind the Director General and work as a team.
Prof. Peter Twumasi, who once worked with the Most Reverend Minister of God at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was excited to host him, considering his historic visit to the Authority by a Bishop. Prof. Twumasi remained positive on future collaboration between the Authority and the Church as a whole.
Present at the meeting were the Head of Human Resource, Papa Asante, Deputy Public Relations Officer, Rita Odei, Head of Projects, Richard Yeboah and members from the Methodist Diocese.
