Ghana for the first time will host her fellow counterparts in a two-day African Open Jiu-Jutsu Championship from 15-16 July in Accra.
The President of the Federation, Mr Maxwell Borketey made this known when he called on the Director General of the National Sports Authority( NSA) to garner support for the Hosting of the Championship.
Mr Borketey noted that hosting rights was conferred to the Ghana Jiu-Jutsu Federation after they had won the bid to host the Championship this year.
He added that over 16 African Countries have expressed interest in the Championship so far, and though an African Championship, it is open to all Athletes beyond the shores of Africa.
The President further reiterated that Ghana has a brilliant chance of excelling in the Championship as the Team is privileged to have Mr Daniel Earl, an experienced Coach from the United States of America (USA) to assist them during competition.
Mr Borketey, thus called on the NSA to come and support the Federation to sucessfully host the Championship.
On his part, Prof. Peter Twumasi assured the Federation of his Outfit’s support in providing guidelines for the successful hosting of the Championship and wished the Team well in the upcoming Event.
