GTTA LAYS ROADMAP FOR ELECTIVE CONGRESS

The National Executives of Ghana Table Tennis Association(GTTA) has agreed to hold its elective Congress on December 15, 2023 following an impasse that delayed the elections.

The decision was taken at a crucial meeting with the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi who expressed his displeasure with the current executives on their overstay in Office.

The President of GTTA, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu noted that with the exception of Greater Accra and the five Northern Regions, all other stakeholders have not held their regional congresses thus disqualifying them from participating in the National Congress. This is one of the reasons for the delay in holding the National Elections.

A roapmap was developed in-line with the GTTA constitution to ensure that all outstanding regional elections and other procedures are followed in order for the National Congress to come off on December 15.

Prof Twumasi, thus tasked the leadership of the Association, to ensure that the agreed upon roapmap is followed adding that such issues undermine the development and promotion of Table Tennins in the Country as GTTA is the only body recognized and mandated by the National Sports Authority to develop professional aspect of the sport.

Present at the meeting were the President of GTTA, Mawuko Afadzinu, 1st Vice Ken Ashigbey, Treasurer William B. Asare, Technical Director Charles Tachie-Menson, Women Coordinator Efua Oforiwa O. Agyei and Head Coach Anthony Owusu-Ansah

The rest are, Ag. Head of Technical, Mr Jeffrey Manza and Head of PR, Rita Odei Asare.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana and NSA will be involved in the electoral process.
