Mr. Bawah Fuseini, President of Ghana Athletics announced a partnership with NSA and MoYS. The collaboration aims to train 120 technical officials nationwide, ensuring a well-prepared Ghanaian representation at the African Games.
Under the new leadership, Ghana Athletics will sustain the School Sports Development Initiative with NSA, MOYS, and GES, thereby fostering emerging talents from educational institutions to excel in athletics at the national level.
As part of the strategy for the All African Games, President Bawah Fuseini outlined plans for Ghana Athletics to leverage on the expertise of Ghanaian foreign-based athletes and coaches. These seasoned individuals will be brought in to train local athletes to enhance their performance and readiness for the upcoming All Africa Games.
President Bawah Fuseini expressed gratitude to local coaches, acknowledging their financial contributions to scouting and nurturing athletes. He noted that these grassroots efforts significantly contribute to the overall improvement of athletics competitions in Ghana. He also congratulated other newly-elected executives of the Federation and commended the athletes for their outstanding performance.
Additionally, he informed the public about a significant change of the Ghana Athletics Association name will now be known as “Ghana Athletics” moving forward.
“This collaborative effort underscores a commitment to talent development, enhancing technical capabilities, and ensuring a formidable representation at international sporting events”, he said.
The Association has set a target to win an Olympic gold medal in the next four years.
