The leadership of the National Sports Authority (NSA) recently paid a courtesy call to the esteemed National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence in Fadama. Led by Board Chairman Hon. Seth Panwum Boyoyo, the delegation included Director General Hon. Dodzie Numekevor, Deputy Director General Alhaji Bawa Majeed, and Chief Accountant Mr. Kweku Agyei Larbi.
The delegation was there to express their condolences on the passing of the Chief Imam’s wife and secondly, to introduce the new Director General and seek blessings for his tenure. Additionally, the delegation informed the Chief Imam of their plan to organize a football match in honor of his upcoming 105th birthday on April 24, 2024.
Expressing his gratitude for the visit, the Chief Imam pledged to attend the match and even participate by kicking off the event. He graciously offered advice to the NSA leadership and led a special prayer for the well-being of Ghana and the National Sports Authority.
The meeting symbolizes the harmonious relationship between sports and religion, highlighting the unity and respect that exist within Ghana’s diverse communities.
