The National Sports Authority (NSA) in partnership with GPL side Karela United, is undetaking a comprehensive pitch renovation project to restore the Tamale Sports Stadium turf to its former glory. The ongoing works focuses on pitch renovation to meet premier league standards, as well as upgradrading the basic facilities to enhance fan experience. This collaborative effort aims at ensuring a conducive environment for Karela United to host its home matches at the facility.
Additinally, the project aims at attracting other top-flight football matches back to the city of Tamale. It is worth noting that the exercise seeks to provide a world-class sporting facility for the local community and it’s environs.The Ag. Director General, Hon. Seth Panwum was in tamale to inspect the ongoing works and to access the readiness of the venue ahead of the premier league game between Karala United and Samatex, scheduled for Sunday, 6th October 2024. This exercise is expected to continue, as the GPL league progresses.
