Accra, April 24, 2025 — The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), led by President Inusah Rafatu, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to express appreciation and strengthen collaboration.

The GRFU thanked the Director General for attending their recent Congress and updated him on preparations for this year’s activities, including ongoing training for both men and women and upcoming regional club championships.
President Rafatu also congratulated Mr. Ankrah on his appointment and pledged the union’s support for his vision to promote sports development.
Mr. Ankrah commended the GRFU for their smooth elections and progress in growing rugby across the country. He assured the team of his support, saying, “My doors are always open — keep pushing.”

The GRFU also requested NSA’s backing for the global T1 Rugby initiative in schools and proposed collaboration to develop employment policies for players and coaches. Mr. Ankrah encouraged them to submit formal letters to the appropriate authorities to explore solutions.
The meeting ended with mutual appreciation and a renewed commitment to advancing rugby in Ghana.
