On May 9, 2025, the Vice President of Ecowas Tourism, Ambassador Nancy Q Sam, Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye Executive Secretary (Creative Arts Agency) alongside representatives from Jay Upscale, Aberra Larcher, and Jermaime Margas visited the Director General of NSA, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah to inform their enthusiasm for a transformative partnership aiming at bringing a world-class international music concert to Ghana.

The event, envisioned as an annual spectacle, seeks to harness the power of entertainment, arts, and culinary excellence to unite the diaspora and celebrate African culture on a grand scale.

In her keynote address, Ambassador Nancy Q Sam outlined the ambitious initiative, emphasizing the collaboration’s potential to position Ghana as a premier destination for global entertainment. “This partnership is about more than just a concert—it’s about creating a lasting cultural bridge between Africa and the diaspora,” she said. The proposed event, slated to be held at the Accra Sports Stadium, is expected to draw top-tier international artists while showcasing Ghana’s rich heritage.

The Director-General of the NSA, Mr. Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah, visibly impressed by the proposal, affirmed the Authority’s commitment to the project. “We have the means, the strategies, and the passion to make this vision a reality,” he stated.

Mr. Jermaine Magras of Jay Upscale, a key figure in the partnership, highlighted the deeper significance of the collaboration. “This means a lot to me—not just as an event organizer, but as someone who believes in reconnecting the diaspora with Africa through entertainment, culinary arts, and creativity,” he said. “We’re not just hosting a concert; we’re creating an experience that will resonate across generations.”

His colleague, Mr. Aberra Larcher echoed the sentiment, expressing excitement about the long-term cultural impact. “This is just the beginning of a beautiful process,” Larcher said. “We must educate the world about Africa’s potential and combine our resources to make this a transformative movement.”

Mr. Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah expressed his advocacy for diaspora relations and praised the initiative for its potential to strengthen ties between Africa and its global descendants. “This is more than entertainment—it’s about unity, pride, and celebration,” he remarked.

Ambassador Nancy Q. Sam reinstated her strong support for the project. “This is a step in the right direction,” she said. “I believe in the team’s potential, given their strong connections in the U.S. entertainment industry. The Accra Sports Stadium is the perfect venue—a symbol of Ghana’s grandeur and the capability to host world-class events.”

The DG urged the delegation to explore the Accra Sports Stadium firsthand, directing the NSA’s Head of Estate, Mr. Ebo Andorful to guide them on a tour of the facilities. With a final note of gratitude, he left the team with a resonant message: “Let’s elevate and celebrate—together.”
