The National Sports Authority extends its appreciation to the teaming football fans
who thronged the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday to offer their support to the Black
Stars of Ghana in their encounter with their Sudanese counterparts. The Authority
further wishes to express its gratitude to the various security services for their support
and cooperation in ensuring safety and security before and during the match.
It is also heartwarming to note that fans adherence to the match day regulations was
satisfactory by all standards and it’s our wish that this spirit would be extended to
subsequent matches. As the Stars are preparing to honour their return encounter with
their Sudanese counterparts in Libya, we encourage all Ghanaians to keep faith with
the team and also offer their support and prayers for them in order to secure a win in
that game. We believe a win in the upcoming game will spur the team on to secure all
the needed points in the subsequent matches to qualify for the continental
championship next year.
On behalf of the Governing Board and Management of the Authority, we wish the
Black Stars the best in their quest to qualify for the AFCON and the World Cup.
