Accra, 19th May, 2025 – The Power Taekwondo Club paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, following their successful participation in the World Action Taekwondo Association (WATA) International Open Championship held in Japan.
The delegation, led by the club’s Master Coach, Mr. Emmanuel Boye, visited the NSA headoffice to brief Mr. Ampofo Ankrah on their recent exploits at the championship, which took place from 25th April to 27th April, 2025. During the visit, the athletes proudly displayed the gold and silver medals they secured for Ghana, highlighting their exceptional performance on the international stage.

Mr. Ampofo Ankrah warmly welcomed the team and expressed his admiration and appreciation for their efforts, commending them for their role in raising Ghana’s flag high in global taekwondo circles. In a symbolic gesture, the club presented their medals to the Director General, who congratulated the athletes and officials for their dedication and hard work.
“We are proud of your achievements and the honor you’ve brought to Ghana,” Mr. Ampofo Ankrah said. “This is a clear sign that with commitment and support, Ghanaian athletes can compete and excel at the highest level.”

The Power Taekwondo Club expressed gratitude to the Director General for honoring their visit and pledged to continue striving for excellence in their future competitions.
The visit underscores the growing impact of Ghanaian taekwondo on the international scene and the importance of sustained institutional support for sports development.
Also in attendance were, Godfred Nsiah Boamah (Assistant Coach), Fred Omari Ampadu (Athlete), Williams Maxwell (Fighter), Richmond Antwi-Mends (Fighter) and Kofi Boah Anane (Fighter).
