The National Men’s Team is currently one of the finest teams in Africa ranking 3rd behind South Africa and Egypt respectively and 35th in the FIH World Rankings. Ghana Men in 2017 won the bronze medal (3rd Place) at the Africa Cup of Nations (ACN) tournament held in Ismailia, Egypt. The team is currently made up of seasoned players from clubs such as Exchequers of Bank of Ghana, Royal Men from GRA Customs Division, Reformers from the Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana Police Service, and a Ghanaian player resident in South Africa. The Team is feverishly preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Qualifying Tournament to be held in Stellenbosch, the Republic of South Africa from 12 – 18 August 2019 and are determined to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics next year to raise the flag of Ghana high in the game of field hockey.
