The National Sports Authority has presented a sum of Ghc 10,000 to The Ghana Hockey Association in Accra.
At a brief ceremony at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday, the Director General of the NSA, Professor Peter Twumasi said the amount was given to the association by the NSA as a form of appreciation for their sterling performance at the just ended African Games hockey championship in South Africa.
He added that, there is the need for various stakeholders and corporate organizations to come together to support and strengthen the least financed sports to ensure they win more laurels for the country in future.
The male Hockey team won bronze at the championship with the female team maintaining their second spot on the continent with a silver medal.
