On Tuesday May 26,2020, the Director-General of the National Sports Authority visited the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to inspect the ongoing renovation works. Assisted by the NSA’s Regional Director, Mr Edmund Appiah, he toured the stands and washrooms where replacement of seats and Water closets are currently being carried out.
He interacted with workers on site and observed high level of enthusiasm and dedication to duty among them. They were optimistic of getting the entire broken green seats detached from base within the week. It is expected that the renovation works which includes the pitch, tartan tracks, seats, scoreboard, flood lights and painting will be completed three months earlier than the one year contract period.
