2023 African Games LOC Pays a working visit to the NSA

On Tuesday, 29th June 2021, The Chairman of the 2023 African Games Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Dr Ofosu Asare, and members paid a working visit to the National Sports Authority (NSA) at the Head Office in Accra. The committee reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with the Authority to ensure the successful hosting of the biggest continental games in Ghana and requisite preparation of athletes by the National Sports Authority and various federations.

They thanked the Authority for its constant support to the LOC especially when Technical Team from African Union visited the country to build capacity for the hosting of the Games. Technical teams from NSA and LOC have been tasked to come out with plans to organize the prestigious National Games at the end of this year.


The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter O. Twumasi assured the Committee of the Authority’s unrestricted support to make hosting of the 13th African Games a grand one. He assured them of availing staff and facilities of the Authority to the organization of the Games.

He expressed appreciation to the Finance Minister and President Akufo-Addo for allowing the Authority to recruit new coaches, sports development officers, administrators and other supporting staff this year numbering 250 to augment the work of the Authority which in the past suffered staff depletion.

He also thanked the government for renovating our stadiums and building new ones across the country. These human and infrastructural resources in no doubt will enhance the work of the LOC and all other sporting events in the country. Other members present included Mr Nunoo Mensah (GOC President and member), Dr Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, Ms Joyce Datsa, Mr Rex Brobbey all from the LOC; and Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr (Ag Director-General – Technical), Mr Ebo Andorful (Estate Manager) from NSA.
