[2020 Tokyo Olympic Games]: Ghana’s Full Fixture Schedule As Athletes Take To The Field After Opening Ceremony

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games officially began on Friday July 23, 2021 with a colorful opening ceremony surrounded with a spectacle of flag-waving, music, lights, parades, and cultural celebration which was climaxed with the lightening of the Olympic cauldron by world’s No.2 Tennis star Naomi Osaka.

As expected, the opening ceremony was attended by a limited number of participants due to stringent COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the IOC and the Japanese government to ensure that, the games are being held in a COVID-free environment.

Only about 950 VIPs took part in the event including Ghana’s contingent. The Ghanaian athletes wore white outfits with intricate patterns in the color of the national flag. During the opening ceremony, Team Ghana was outstanding, with flag bearer Nadia Eke stealing the show with her raving moves.
