Ghana Swimming Association begins the opening ceremony of the 14TH CANA AFRICAN SENIOR/JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP at the Bukom International Pool on the 11th- 17th of October, 2021. All swimming events will be held at the Bukom International Pool of the Trust Sports Emporium.
The Championship is a combination of the Junior and Senior which for the first time is happening under one umbrella. The Open Water Championship would be held at Akosombo on the 17th October, 2021. The championship involves 383 athletes from 40 countries across Africa. The athletes, both male and female would be competing under the various categories in swimming. Winners at the end of the competition would be awarded with Medals.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif was present at the opening ceremony, representing the Director General of the National Sports Authority; Prof Peter Twumasi was the Ag.Deputy Director General (Technical), Mr. Kwame Amponfi Jnr,GOC
President,Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah,President of CANA,Dr. Sam Ramsamy and his able Vice, Mr.Zouheir El Moufti.
