On Wednesday, December 01, 2021, the Scientific Coordinator (HEAD OF SECRETARIAT), Forson Acher Dzotor and his able team paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof. Peter Twumasi.
The purpose of the visit was to show appreciation to the Authority and Prof. Peter Twumasi himself, for his tremendous support and dedication to the Association and also to officially congratulate him on his appointment as the Director General OF NSA.
Forson Acher indicated that, Prof. Peter Twumasi has shown keen interest in the development of the Association in all aspects.
He expressed gratitude to the Authority for supporting the Association with a token for ongoing projects
He presented a well designed framed certificate of appreciation, a cloth of the GSA and souvenirs for being part of the major sponsors.
On his part, the DirectorGeneral, expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the GSA.
According to the NSA Boss, it was through some of these relationships that catapulted some of them into mentorship and leadership.
He stated that, scientific approaches work perfectly everywhere, especially in sports and hoped that the National Biennial would become one of the teams using science and technology to advance sports and physical education in Ghana.
He added that, the idea was shared amongst some stakeholders and Cooperate Ghana which they showed interest since a couple of them are into manufacturing of Sports equipments, fittings etc hence, they would have used avenues on the platform to showcase scientifically and engineering wise what they can do for Ghana, therefore reduce the importation of those accoutrements.
He explained that it was unfortunate to begin the idea/project due to the Covid19 pandemic.
He emphasized that, the idea is not lost yet, therefore it will definitely be put to work.
He commended the Association for their support and contribution towards the Authority.
He disclosed that, the Authority has established a desk for research and education.
Prof Peter Twumasi mentioned that, the Authority and the GSA would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for future scientific based research activities.
Mr. Forson Acher Dzotor assured the Authority of any kind of researchers and support. He added that Association will always be at their disposal.
