GAA TO FOCUS ON SCHOOL SPORTS

The President of the Ghana Athletics Association Mr. Bawah Fuseini , has indicated that his administration is focused on rebuilding competitive athletics in schools and reviving School Sports.

He made this comments when the Association called on the Director General of the National Sports Authority to acquaint him with the newly elected Executives.

Mr. Bawah used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Director General for the Authority’s assistance during their just ended elections.

The president also noted that GAA is preparing vigorously for the All African Games next year adding, that a comprehensive document covering the Games and the Olympic Games is being worked on.

Mr. Fuseini again used the occasion to highlight the need for women involvement in sports by taking up roles in administration, coaching or as athletes.

Congratulating the team on their victory, Prof. Twumasi urged the newly elected executives to bring on board their expertise to ensure that Ghana Athletics keeps making inroads on the international scene whiles not neglecting grassroot development and local promotion of the Sport.

He assured them of the Authority’s continuous support in all their endeavours.

Present at the meeting was the Mr Jeff Manza, Ag. Dep. Director General Technical, Mr. Charles Asibey, Madam Philipina Frimpong, Mr. Appiah-Kubi, Mr. Christopher Darku and Mr. Addo Fitcher.
