The National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Middle Belt Development Authority have finalized arrangements to renovate the Nkawkaw Stadium, which for over decades has not had any face-lift.
The Director General of NSA, Prof. Peter Twumasi and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Middle Belt Development Authority, Lawyer Joyce Opoku Boateng, who represented the CEO, Hon Joe Danquah had a fruitful meeting with regards to the aforementioned project on 5th August, 2020 in Kumasi. The technical teams of both parties are expected to visit the site next week to ascertain the scope of work and to be immediately followed by a sod-cutting ceremony to begin construction/renovation.
The first phase of the project will include renovation of the pitch, the spectator stands, washrooms, changing rooms among other essential areas of the facility which require urgent attention. The second-phase will include the construction of a tartan track for athletics and other additional infrastructural edifices.
