NSA Boss, Prof. Peter Twumasi on Friday made a stop at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi to inspect the facility ahead of the upcoming international Competitions.
The pitch, washrooms, dressing rooms, offices and some other units of the facility were inspected by the Director General to assess the facility’s readiness for matches involving the Black Stars and the Black Meteors of Ghana.
The stadium has been closed down temporarily to allow uninterrupted works to be undertaken ahead of Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Angola on March 23, 2023.
Similarly, the Black Meteors of Ghana will also play Algeria in the 2nd leg of the last round qualifier for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
In view of this, the Ashanti Regional Directorate of NSA led by Regional Director Emmanuel Kojo Appiah and the Estate department has commenced vigorous renovation works at the facility to ready the edifice for the crucial games.
The NSA boss after his visit was satisfied with the work done so far and encouraged the entire staff to put in extra effort to ensure, the stadium will continue to meet international standards.
Prof. Twumasi spent the whole day at Baba Yara and briefly met Police Officers at Asokwa who had called on the Regional Director at his office to discuss matters of mutual interest.
