Today Friday, August 18, 2022, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Yussif launched the National Fitness Day at the forecourt of Media Centre at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Prof. Peter Twumasi in his welcoming address commended the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon.Mustapha Ussif for ensuring the keepfit program was been launched successfully.
He further stated that, Keep Fit is one of the activities that will aid in the performances of Ghanaians and he is of the view that, it inherent benefits will help cut down the hospital visit and health budget of the country.
He again pledge on the authority’s support to ensure that the benefits of this program is realized by every Ghanaian.
Hon. Mustapha Yussif in his address explained that, the launch was in response to a call by the Vice President of Ghana, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to set aside a day (second saturday in every month) to promote exercise and fitness among Ghanaians.
This, they believe will go a long way to help eradicate some health issues due to physical inactivities.
