NSA Boss Arrives In Ghana After Olympic Games, Calls For Support Ahead of 2023 African Games

The Director General of the National Sports Authority(NSA), Prof Peter Twumasi earlier today arrived at the Kotoka International Airport together with some government led delegates from the just ended 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

He was welcomed by the Deputy Director General of NSA, Mr Majeed, The Acting Director General Technical, Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr ,The Acting Head of HR, Papa Asante, The HR of the Ministry of Youth And Sports, Mr Bonsu, The Director F&A of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Sassu, the media and some Supporters of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

In an interview with the press, Prof Twumasi expressed how grateful he was for the performances so far and how Ghana has been able to find its way to the medal table. He stated that aside the many disciplines in Ghana, 5 represented in the just ended games.

According to him, Ghana has been trying to get on the list for over  50years and the chance we had has been utilized very well by placing Ghana on the list.

Samuel Takyi within the boxing fraternity was able to win a medal for team Ghana.
He thanked his Excellency President Akuffo Addo for his support and hoped that the coming years will be better.

The African games are expected to be held soon and with good and strategized preparation, Ghana will once again be crowned with victory. He added that, with the right support, sports will not only be for competition but will equally aid in job creation. The medal was put on display in honour of every Ghanaian.

The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr Ben Nunoo-Mensah also expressed gratitude to the team and urged us all to show the same support to the team coming on Thursday.

He is equally hopeful that with the right support the representatives will perform better in the upcoming games.

He stated that the date for the welcoming ceremony will be communicated in due course.
