Emmanuel Kojo Appiah, Ag. Ashanti Regional Director of National Sports Authority (NSA) on Wednesday, February 09, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon. Sam Pyne at his office in Kumasi.
The purpose of the meeting was to engage the Kumasi Mayor on the region’s plans and preparations ahead of the impending National Cross Country which will be held at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana later this month.
In his opening remarks, Emmanuel Kojo Appiah updated the KMA Boss on the region’s advanced preparations by the NSA after it selected 12 athletes; six males and six females to represent Ashanti region during the competition.
The Ag. Regional Director during his submission also pleaded for the KMA’s support and assistance in any form in order to aid the region’s quest of achieving excellence during the cross country.
The Metro Coordinating Director of KMA, Mr. Kwadwo Akuamoah Boateng welcomed the the NSA staff on-behalf of the Mayor.
On his part, KMA Boss Hon. Sam Pyne assured the NSA of providing financial assistance as part of the Metro’s contribution to the team during the event.
He believes, this contribution will provide extrinsic motivation to the athletes and their officials to put up impressive performance which will in the end bring glory to the region in the arena of sports.
Mr Appiah finishing up expressed his profound gratitude to the KMA Boss and the entire Metropolitan Assembly for opening their doors to contribute in the development of sports in Ghana.
The Ag. Regional Director of NSA, Emmanuel Kojo Appiah was accompanied by Madam Linda Adarkwa Yiadom-Admnistrator of NSA and Nana Oheneba Owusu Ansah-Principal Executive Officer of NSA when they called on Hon. Sam Pyne.
The 2022 National Cross Country will take place from Thursday, February 24, 2022 to Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.
